Privacy Policy

I, Shiatsu therapist Nina Sternthal, located at Eisenbahnweg 7A, 4058 Basel, hereby confirm that I adhere to the following regulations in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the Data Protection Ordinance.

The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you, as my client, about how I handle your personal and sensitive data collected in my practice.

I only process data that is relevant to the therapeutic treatment or necessary for informing you about potential offers. This includes only data that I have recorded with your consent, that you have provided to me, or that is publicly available (e.g., in directories such as phone books). This may include general personal data (name, address, phone number, etc.), health information, medical history, previous diagnoses, and any other data you have shared with me as part of the treatment (patient records).

These data are collected, stored, and processed exclusively within your patient file or the administrative file, particularly within the app required for invoicing in accordance with Tariff 590. All processing steps related to your data, including responsible persons, are traceable within these records.

Your personal data will only be shared within my practice with individuals or departments that require them to fulfill contractual and legal obligations. These persons are informed about and obliged to comply with the applicable data protection regulations.

Your data, or parts thereof, will only be disclosed to third parties (such as insurance companies) with your explicit consent. Exceptions include court orders or the enforcement of legitimate claims by the practice.

If your data is collected and processed physically, it will be stored in a locked room or cabinet that is inaccessible to unauthorized persons. Electronically collected data is stored securely (e.g., with firewalls and passwords).

Unless cantonal or other legal regulations dictate otherwise, your data will be deleted twenty years after your last consultation at my practice.

Written communication between my practice and you takes place via email, either encrypted using a standard encryption program or—with your written consent—unencrypted.

As a current or former client, you may request a copy of all data I have collected about you in a commonly used electronic format at any time. Any physical records will be scanned and provided to you as a PDF or in paper form. Generally, this data will be provided free of charge and within 30 days.

The person responsible for any questions regarding the processing of your personal data and your rights is your therapist: Nina Sternthal
